The clock read 11:40 p.m., the perfect time to go to bed and get a full nights rest before work the next day. So naturally I decided that it would be the perfect time to begin Season 6 of Parks and Rec. When the wifi was too slow to load Netflix, I switched to YouTube, where after minutes of searching, I found Jenny Schatzle's Ted Talk titled "Rewiring how you look at yourself" at around 12:03 a.m. The title grabbed my attention because I had just spent a week at the beach, staring down at my far from perfect body in my bikini. But the video claimed I already had the perfect body.
What? I had been eating ice cream for every meal this past week and my body is perfect? Impossible.
But guys, here's the thing. Our bodies are perfect. So is our hair and our makeup and our beautiful brains. Wanna know why?
Because we said so.
What we say is what we are. If you say you're fat, then you're fat. If you say you're tired, then you're tired. If you say you're whatever, then you're whatever. So what if we said different things about ourselves? What if instead of saying "I'm tired," we said, "IM EXCITED" in the morning. It would be a much better day.
We get to choose how we feel and how we look. Crazy right? It's because it's all about mindset. If we think we look beautiful, then BAM! We're beautiful. I gotta say, choosing to be beautiful seems like a pretty awesome choice.
So pick how you want to look and OWN IT. Own how you feel and how you look, because no one decides who you are and what you're worth except you!! If you need some extra encouragement I highly suggest checking out this Ted Talk!! I'll link it here.
Thanks so much for reading!! See ya later! <3
