Hey ladies (or men)! If you're a single lady, you don't have to put a ring on it! Being single can suck sometimes, but you can also take time to enjoy your freedom and yourself. From my many years of experience in the field of Being Single, I have some tips for you guys to help make life easier and happier.
Tip #1: Get to know yourself. You spend your whole life being you, but do you really know yourself? Find out what you really love to do. This is a time where you're by yourself and you can take that time as an opportunity to learn about who you are. Find out hobbies you love, what your favorite subjects are in school, how you learn the best, what kind of music you enjoy listening to, learn EVERYTHING about yourself!! You're so interested and worthy, so learn everything you can about the beautiful person that you are.
Tip #2: Focus on something bigger than yourself. Work on a project that helps others or focuses on something more. When you do this, choose something you're passionate about and interested in. If you want to do service hours, choose a cause you're really interested in and invest yourself in it, as opposed to doing a little bit of work in a bunch of different places. Do it for the reason of helping the cause, rather than just doing something because it will look good on a college application. Doing something for others will take the focus off yourself for a second, and it will be extremely rewarding to help someone else.
Tip #3: Treat yo self! Take time to love yourself. Show yourself tons of self love. Give yourself a spa day, go on a run, read a new book, binge watch a show on Netflix. Do whatever you need to do to feel awesome about yourself!
Tip #4: Love others. Just because you don't have a significant other that doesn't mean you can't love people. Spend time with your friends and family. Spread some positive vibes around to the people in your life that you love. I don't think there is a limit to the love that you have in your heart (cheesy, but true). Your love isn't reserved for one person in your life. You can love your family. You can love your friends in a platonic kind of way. You can love your dog! There's so much love so spread it as much as you can!!
Tip #5: Figure out what you want. Being single is a really good time to figure out what it is you want in a relationship. Ask yourself what you really hope to gain within a relationship. This will help you when opportunity comes knocking at your door. Maybe it's the perfect option, or maybe you might wait for someone else who is closer to what you're looking for. You may find you might not even want to be in a relationship. This is also a great time to set boundaries for what you know you're comfortable with. I know I sound like such a mom when I say that, but I do think that they're super important. Obviously boundaries change throughout your life, but it's always good to check in with yourself before you even get to a point of needing them, just so you're prepared.
Tip #6: Know that it's going to be okay. Sometimes you'll be feeling super lonely, but it's going to get better. Love is going to find you because you are so worth loving! Try not to worry about it too much. I know that saying that is stupid and it's not that easy, but love is going to find you when you least expect it. Whatever you do, don't settle for less than you deserve just so you don't feel lonely. You are deserving of the most AMAZING love, so make sure you have the best of the best. If you're having trouble feeling okay, turn on some empowering jams and have a dance party!! I'll link a playlist below ;).
I hope everyone is having an excellent day! Don't forget to love yourself! Your self-love is WAY more important than the love from anyone else.
Thanks for reading!! See ya later! <3
