Hey pals!! Today I was inspired to channel my inner beauty and health YouTube guru and talk about some of the things I've been crushin' on lately! Before I start I wanted to let you guys know that I'm now a Pura Vida Rep!! Pura Vida is a company that supports artisans in Costa Rica, and they partner with several different charities as well. They support such an amazing cause, and you can support them as well by using my code ANNACAVE20 to get 20% OFF!! How great is that?!? Go get yourselves some cute bracelets! So let's get into this post! I'll divide the things I'm lovin' into sections so you can individually read about the kind of stuff you're interested in!! -Beauty- Tea Tree Oil: Lately I've been trying to be more natural with the kind of stuff I'm using on my skin, so I've been replacing as much of my chemical filled products as I can with some with earthier vibes. I love using tea tree oil as a substitution for acne medication. Normally I would buy some sort of acne treatment from Target or something, but I watched a Youtube video about skincare hacks and I tried this one out, and it works pretty well! I pour a couple of drops onto a q-tip and then (this is very important!!!) I dilute the tea tree oil by running it under the faucet. If you don't dilute it, it can burn your skin so don't skip this step. Then you just rub the q-tip on your acne and let it dry!!! Jojoba Oil: Continuing on the natural beauty kick, instead of using a normal moisturizer, I picked up some of this oil at TJ Maxx for $5.99. I really love using it because it only requires a couple drops for your whole face. It's super light and leaves my skin soft but not oily. Plus you can use it on your hair too so I'd say it's a pretty good deal. No Makeup Days: Dude. These. Are. The. Best!!!! I'm a lifeguard, so I don't need to be wearing makeup for my job. It's so nice because it gives your skin the ability to breathe. Plus you're saving a ton of money by not using expensive beauty products everyday. It's nice to start embracing the natural beauty you were born with. Now I never wear makeup unless I'm going out with people, and let's be honest, that doesn't happen very often. Vaseline Lip Therapy Advanced Healing: This is the only chapstick I've ever used that has actually worked. Some lip products that promise hydration (EOS, I'm looking at you) hydrate your lips for a little bit, then dry them out, causing you to reapply and need to purchase their product more often. I put on Vaseline twice a day, after I brush my teeth, and my lips are soft for the whole day! It's like $2 and I've had mine for a couple of months, so I would definitely recommend. -Health- Healthy Fats: Okay so lately I've been on this health kick (trying to look like Baywatch, you know), and I've learned the importance of healthy fats. Most people stray from fat because they think eating fat makes you fat, but it doesn't! Healthy fats, like avocados and walnuts are so good for you and can help your brain function properly. So yeah, eat some fats!! Chia Seeds: Okay, my whole family makes fun of me because they think it's gross, but I love to drink chia water. Fill up a glass with water and add 2 spoonfuls of chia seeds. It looks really gross, but I like the taste and I like the texture of it I think it's fun. Chia seeds are awesome for digestion because they are so high in fiber. You can put them on anything, and I also like putting them on salads and granola, and basically everything! Water: If you know me, you know I don't go anywhere without my water bottle. I LOVE drinking water. It's so good for your skin and digestion, and there's no reason not to drink it! You can also add lemon for flavor, and lemon also helps detoxify your body. Sarah's Day: Sarah is a vlogger, and I honestly learned almost everything about being healthy from her. She's Australian and super cute, and she's all about LISTENING TO YOUR BODY, which is such a positive and great message for fitness. She's so honest in her videos and is so knowledgable!! Check her out here. Blogilates: Cassey leads this blog and YouTube channel, and it's amazing! I love her workouts because they kick my butt, but they're all pretty short (10-15 minutes) so you can get through it. I love her videos and they've played a huge role in improving what my body is capable of. Her YouTube channel is here, and her blog is here. -Music- The Paper Kites: This is a super chill band and they have awesome music for relaxing. I love listening to them before bed of when I'm journaling because they give off some calm vibes. My favorite songs are Featherstone, Woodland, and Bloom. Country: Guys, its not all about beer and tractors! Some of the country songs out there are so sweet. I don't really like the twangy country, and Thomas Rhett is great if you're just getting into country because he's sort of a country-pop mix! They're great carefree summer jams, so give it a try! Throwbacks: Throwback songs are perfect for the summer! They can range from anything to High School Musical to Queen. Disney and Hannah Montana are awesome for jamming out with your friends, but also ask your parents to play some of their favorite songs. My family always listens to music while we clean up the kitchen after dinner, so it's always awesome when one of my parents has the aux and they play some of the stuff they love. -Other Awesome Things- Great Friends: Summer is a great time to hang out with friends. It can be hard to find time if you and your friends are working, but I'm sure you can find time to go grab coffee and chat for an hour. Even if it's hard to find time to see people, texting on the daily helps you know who your true friends are-- the ones who are constantly there for you and always want to support you. Me Time: Am I the only one who just wants time alone? Today I had a great day-- I took a hot shower, did a face mask, and read a magazine. It was so nice to have time to myself. It's also so important to make time for yourself everyday. The best thing is to sit down and journal about your thoughts and feelings, but reading a good book or indulging in your favorite Netflix show are also great. Also, PLEASE leave book recommendations in the comments on this post because I really need some good ones to read this summer. That about wraps up this post for today! I want to make sure that you guys know that all the things I talked about today are things I actually use/do. I wasn't paid to talk about any of these, because that's not my intention! I want you guys to be genuinely happy, and talking about products that I don't use wouldn't help with that. I care about how you're feeling, and I want to share what I've genuinely been loving lately!!I hope you guys can find some great new tips or things to do this summer!! I love you all :) have a great day! Thanks so much for reading!!! See ya later! <3
