good morning guys!! see what i did there? i love the mornings. i never used to be a morning person, and i'm still not one of those people who wakes up at 5:30 or something crazy like that, but i've learned that mornings are such a productive time for me, and i've learned to use that knowledge to make my life a little easier. i'm always exhausted at the end of the day, so getting everything done at the beginning of the day allows me to actually enjoy and spend quality time on the things i need two get done, instead of rushing through them so i can get to bed. i'm just going to run through my current morning routine with you guys, so here we go.
the time i wake up depends on what time i need to be at work. i like to give myself at least hour and 45 minutes in the morning before work, so that means i'll be waking up around 8 or 9. if i'm in the mood for it, i'll sometimes run at 7 but honestly that's pretty rare.
after i wake up i wash my face so i feel clean, and then i blog and do something spiritual, like reading the bible. the order of those two changes depending on what i'm in the mood for, but i'm working on doing both of those every morning. those can end up taking a little while, so by the time i'm done i'm pretty hungry. i have 3 breakfasts that i rotate depending on my cravings, and i can leave some recipes at the bottom of this post. while i make breakfast i usually watch youtube or gossip girl or just listen to some tunes to make it really enjoyable.
i also like to work out in the morning, but i've been sick the past few days, so i've been trying not to push myself until i fully recover. i started this morning routine since i've been sick so i'm not sure exactly where i'll fit this in, but i imagine i'll workout as soon as i wake up because that helps me avoid time spent making excuses for why i don't want to workout.
after breakfast i get ready for work and that's the end of my morning routine. it's pretty simple, but it's my favorite part of the day. by choosing to do everything i need to do at the beginning of the day, there's no need to stress about it for the rest of the day, and i can just go to work and hang out with my friends and go to bed when i get home. it simplifies the rest of my day. all the things i do in my morning routine are ones i want to do anyways, so i love giving myself time at the beginning of the day to truly enjoy them and set a positive tone for the day. if you're not a morning person, i would recommend trying to become one. you don't have to do anything drastic, just give yourself something to look forward to in the morning and you'll be good to go.
oatmeal: i just make normal oatmeal, then stir in coconut oil, which helps fill me up. then i add fruit (i'm loving peaches and blueberries right now), granola, chia seeds, honey, cinnamon, and almond milk.
protein shake: blend a banana, chocolate protein powder, peanut butter, coconut oil, chia seeds, almond milk, and ice.
eggs: i love to add stuff to my eggs, so i usually add black beans and chicken to my scrambled eggs. i usually eat some avocado toast and fruit to go along with it.
cheers to a good morning :)
