Hello my young grasshoppers!! As you can tell, I haven't been on here in a while. My excuse for that is horrible. I've been out of it. I was sick and I thought that was the reason for feeling off, but it was more than just that. I haven't been taking care of myself and I just realized that tonight (hence the late night post). If you couldn't tell already, half of my blog posts are just things I need to hear for myself. Tonight I realized I need to be treating myself better and start reducing some unnecessary stress, so tonight I'm going to be giving you some tips on how to get yourself back on track if you haven't felt completely yourself lately.
Tip #1: Clean your room. Actually clean it. Completely. Don't just pick up the things on your floor. Clean out the messy drawers. Do ALL of your laundry. Put away the clean clothes that have been sitting on your chair for the past week. Bring down the empty glasses and water bottles you've been hoarding. Put things where they actually belong. Take things out of your room that don't belong there and put them where they're supposed to be. Make your bed. How can you expect to get back on track if you don't have a clean room? The first step to success is having a clean workspace.
Tip #2: Do the thing(s) you've been meaning to do. You know the thing I'm talking about. The one you've been putting off for days, weeks, maybe even months? Yeah, that one. You'll feel so much better if you finally do it instead of putting it off. It's probably causing you a great deal of stress, even if you don't realize it. You'll feel a huge weight lift off your chest if you just finally do it.
Tip #3: Catch up with people. Talk to the friends you've been meaning to talk to. Hang out with them. Put a little extra effort into all of your relationships. We probably all have the one friend we constantly lean back on, which of course is amazing and awesome and you should be thankful for them, but don't forget about the others in your life. It's important to strengthen all your relationships. It's okay to drift away from people when making new friends. It happens. It's no one's fault. It just means you might need to put some more effort into some of your friendships in order to maintain them.
Tip #4: Force yourself to do something that makes you happy, even if you're not in the mood. It's been forever since I've blogged or journaled, and those are two of the things that make me the happiest in life. Now when I'm bored I always just turn to Netflix. I know I need to start doing things that I know will make me feel better, even if it doesn't seem as appealing. I even had to force myself to write this post instead of watching Netflix. Even though it didn't seem that appealing at the time, I'm already feeling so much better about life and feeling way happier right now. If you know that something will make you feel better and positive, just do it. I promise it will help you out.
Tip #5: Take care of your physical self. Lately I've been doing horrible with this one. I've been eating unhealthy foods and it makes me feel pretty terrible. Start putting some good things into your body. Drink more water. Take care of your skin. Use some moisturizer. Before you go to bed, do your full skincare routine, no matter how late it is. Exercise and keep your body feeling good. Get enough sleep (this is harder than it sounds). Stretch if you're sore and make sure you find time to relax. Your body will give back what you give to it, so give it some amazing and wonderful things.
These are just general tips, and hopefully you'll find something that could help you out. The most important thing is to listen to yourself and find out what you need. Tune in with yourself and ask yourself if you need anything. Do what you need to do to feel happy. Your happiness is the most important thing, so make sure you give that to yourself. Treat yourself right and your happiness is sure to come flooding in. I hope you guys have had a great weekend. Before you go, I wanted to tell you that I made an Instagram account for the blog!
