I had a crazy busy last week of summer. I wish I could have had time to blog, but each day was jam-packed from morning to night. I was getting on that summer work grind, I had 15 hours of ballet camp, back to school shopping, dentist and haircut appointments, work... you get the point. It was crazy. I'm a lifeguard and no one was at the pool the other day, so I started scrolling through Pinterest. I was looking at someone's health Pinterest board when I saw this:
Normally when I think of health, I think of healthy recipes, workouts, and progress pics. I didn't even realize how important mental health was. This summer I had been so focused on getting healthy, but I never even considered that I should be working on keeping my mind healthy. But when I saw this picture in the midst of my crazy week, I felt a wave of calm wash over me. I started thinking about how much I wanted to do all the things on the list.
This school year, I want to encourage all of you guys do to a mental cleanse with me. I'm starting my junior year of high school, which I hear is the most stressful year pre-college. But my goal is to stay positive and grateful throughout it all. I want you guys to do the same. Let's focus on the good of each day, instead of the bad. Let's limit the complaints. Let's focus on staying productive. Let's focus on feeding our minds and bodies right. Let's do the things we want to do. Let's make time for the people and places we love. Let's make time for ourselves, to recharge, to heal, to love life. Let's #LIVEREAL and not let school stop us from actually living. Of course we want to do well, and we need to push ourselves, but don't forget to live a little bit too. Make a list of goals to accomplish and things you want to do this year, and do them. Spend a little bit of time each day doing at least one thing on your list. If you're struggling for ideas, take a screenshot of the list above and look back on it when you need inspiration.
So let's make it the best year ever, despite what stress you may feel. In times of stress, take a second to breathe, then let go of the stress and instead just focus on getting done what you need to get done. If you regularly read my blog posts, then you know that I usually post things that I need to hear. Depending on how this year goes, I'll probably be posting a lot of advice on stress and college because junior year is when all that stuff starts up. I obviously want to post things that help you guys as well, so if anyone has recommendations for blog posts, you can DM me on Instagram, text me, or leave a comment on any of my posts. This year I'll also really be working on expanding my blog. I'll be taking a directed study course at school this year, which basically means you can study whatever you want, so I'm choosing to work on my blog and expand it. This is going to be awesome because I'll have a set hour everyday to work on improving stuff for you guys, and it'll mean my blog posts will be way more regular, because I know I've been all over the place lately. I'm super excited to be spending so much time on here this year, and I can't wait to make things better for you!! Let me know about anything you want to see on here, because I'll be able to make it happen for you guys!! I love y'all and I hope you have a great back to school!!
Thanks so much for reading!!! See ya later! <3
