Hey guys!! Today I wanted to do a fun little blog post that's a little less serious than normal. I guess I'm just channeling my inner YouTuber today so we're going to do some skincare and makeup tips today. I know I don't have perfect skin and I'm not amazing at makeup but I just thought it would be something fun to do today! I'll link all the products I use below, and everything I talk about is something I genuinely use and I'm not sponsored by any of these products, so this is a very authentic review!!
So we're going to start with my skincare stuff so I'll just make a little list of the products I use for different types of things and talk about them:
Face Wash: I use two different face washes, one for the morning, and one for the night. In the morning I use Cetaphil which is just a light cleanser and it's nice to wake up to. I use a scrub every night just because it feels really nice at the end of the day. When I wash my face I first wash it with hot/warm water because it opens up your pores and helps the cleanser effectively wash your face. After you scrub your face, rinse with cold water which helps close your pores and can prevent acne.
Acne Products: I used to use all those fancy products to put on acne, but now I just use tea tree oil. To use it pour a couple drops on a Q-Tip and then it run it under the water to dilute it. This part is VERY important because if you don't it'll burn your skin which is not a look we're going for. I also use Neosporin a lot. I know you're not supposed to touch your face or pop your acne and all that but let's be real-- who actually listens to that? So if you're in a situation where you just attacked your face and it's bleeding like crazy, put some Neosporin on it and it'll heal a lot quicker.
Moisturizer: I use Jojoba oil on my face. It sounds really fancy but I got it for $7 at TJMaxx which is a plus!! This is the product for any type of skin, INCLUDING OILY SKIN. I'm telling you this is a game changer. My skin was really oily until I used this. It sounds like it would be bad to put more oil onto your already oily skin, but it actually helps so much. If you put oil on your face, your face won't produce as much because there's already oil on your face, but Jojoba oil absorbs quickly so you won't look oily. It also has been working well for my skin right now which is really dry because it's winter so I 11/10 recommend this product to everyone.
That's basically all I do for skincare, and I do it when I wake up and when I go to bed. It's pretty simple which is really nice, but let's get onto makeup!!
I do use a few expensive products, but makeup from CVS is pretty such the same thing so if you're ballin on a budget I got you. I'll write down the products I use in order of how I use them.
Brows: I literally have NO eyebrows so I rely on Anastasia Beverly Hills products. I use her brow definer which is a triangle brow pencil. It's more pricey but since I don't have good eyebrows I splurge on this. I just fill in the natural shape of my brow, so it's nothing fancy. Here's a dupe :)
Eyeshadow: I also kinda spend a lot on eyeshadow but you can find the same colors for cheaper (here's a dupe). Recently I've been using the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette. I use a light brown all over my whole lid up to my eyebrow and then blend a dark brown into my outer corner and crease of my eyelid. It's super easy and fast which is great for rushed mornings. ALSO, if you want your eyeshadow to be more pigmented, wet your makeup brush and then use it to put the eyeshadow. I'm not really sure why this works, but it does and it's especially great for sparkly eyeshadow colors.
Concealer: I honestly just buy whatever concealer is cheapest at Target... Right now I'm using Maybelline Fit Me concealer and it's actually pretty good!! I put it under my eyes, on my red spots and I put it on my eyelids as a primer before I put on my eyeshadow. I blend it in with a beauty blender. I don't remember the exact brand of beauty blender I used but I'm pretty sure I just got it at TJMaxx for cheaper than the linked one.
Mascara: I just got the L'Oreal Telescopic mascara and it's the best mascara I've ever had. It really separates your lashes and makes them look long and nice. I 11/10 recommend this.
Contour: I hate the way foundation feels on my face, so I just go straight to contour. I don't anything fancy, I just put it underneath my cheekbones and blend it down my cheeks. I use the Mac matte powder blush right now. I just use that because we had to buy it for dance so I already had it, but any other cheaper contour would work just the same.
Highlight: I just started using highlight and I LOVE IT!!! I have the NYX Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator in the color Gleam. I love it because it's a pinkish color so it really warms up your face and is really good for the day after a late night. I put some on the back of my beauty blender and dab it in above my cheeks and on the side of my eye and blend it into my contour.
That ended up being a really long post, but that's what I do every morning!! Hopefully this was a fun read for you guys, and if you end up using any of the products, let me know how it goes!!! And leave any makeup recommendations/tips in the comments!!!
Thank you so much for reading!! See ya later! <3
