HEY GUYS!! I hope everyone is doing fabulous! Today we're going to be talking about being YOURSELF, because you're awesome!! Have a dance party and celebrate how great you are! I'm in an amazing mood right now, so hopefully this post will be extra uplifting! Yay! I love all of you people!
So people, here's the thing: you have to be unapologetically yourself. You just have to do what you love. Sometimes that can be super intimidating because you might be worried about how people will react to what you're doing or you'll wonder if what you're doing is even going to work out. But guys, you absolutely have to go for it. You have to chase after what makes you happy, no matter what others may think. To do this we have to get out of our heads and think bigger than potential judgement from others.
Here's a quick question: would you rather do what makes you happy and perhaps find a little bit of judgement from others along the way, or would you rather hold back and be surrounded by a bunch of people who won't let you be yourself? I hope you picked the first answer. If not, let's do a quick reality check. If you can't be yourself around someone, is it even worth staying with them and living your life to impress them? Honestly, if someone doesn't let you be yourself around them, then they probably kinda suck. You don't need to be living your life for them. If people are going to judge you, then its their loss, because you're freaking awesome. You don't need those judgmental people anyways!
I have a quick story for you guys before I go on. If you don't already know, I am super feminist and I believe in equal rights for everyone. It's something I'm very, very passionate about. A couple days ago my mom got me a shirt that said "Nevertheless, she persisted." I was psyched, guys. I was so incredibly excited to wear this shirt to school. But then I started getting a little worried about what other people might think of me. They might think I'm super crazy about equal rights and some crazy feminist lady. Looking back, I don't even understand why I was worried about them thinking this, because I do stand up for those things and I think it's something I should be and am proud of. But I still had doubts. But then I realized, "Anna, what are you doing? You love this shirt. You believe in this. It makes you happy. STAND UP FOR IT!!" So even though I was worried, I did it anyways, and I'm glad that I did.
So the point of the story? Doing your own thing is scary and difficult. But you have got to go for it anyways. Don't hold back. It might help to ask yourself this: if someone else did what I was doing, how would I react? This can help put things in perspective and it'll make you realize it's probably not really that big of a deal and honestly people may not even notice or think it's a problem. So do your own thing, and if people judge you, then great, they can back out of your life because you don't need that kind of negativity.
The only person you're holding back by not living your life the way you want to is yourself. You'll be unhappy if you're hiding your true self from people (that is so cheesy, but so true. It's YOUR life, so live it for YOU. Still having trouble with this? Find some role models. I like to have an adult role model in my life, a celebrity role model, and a friend/person your age role model. The most helpful role model to have is someone your age, because you can see how others are living their dreams and follow their lead. Take a deep breath, and go for it. Maybe you need to take it slow before going all out. That's okay. It's important that you work towards getting there, no matter how long it takes.
Guys, don't be ashamed about who you are! Let loose! Go crazy! Show the world the real you! Go look on Pinterest for inspiring quotes about being yourself! We only got one life, so lets live it to the max! I love you crazy wonderful people and I hope you have a fantastic morning or day or afternoon or night!!!!! Be yourself!! <3
